Brian has over forty years of experience in structural engineering design, analysis, and construction management for the built-environment. He serves as the Engineer-of-Record for a diverse range of civil and structural engineering projects. His portfolio includes hospitals, industrial facilities, K-12 schools, research laboratories, performance spaces, waterfront structures, churches, university facilities, elderly housing, multi-family housing, water and waste water facilities, land development, roads, and bridges. Additionally, he provides structural engineering consultation to contractors.
Brian is a staunch advocate of sustainable design, promoting environmentally-friendly construction materials and appropriate technology in development. He mentors professionals at Engineers Without Borders/USA and a founding Member at the International Network on Appropriate Technology. Furthermore, he lectures and conducts research on biomimicry applications in structural engineering.
